The Municipality of San Simon, Pampanga has made history as the first Local Government Unit (LGU) in Pampanga to receive commendation from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for full compliance with the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS). The recognition was officially awarded on October 17, 2024, highlighting San Simon’s dedication to streamlining business permit processing and enhancing ease of doing business.
The eBOSS initiative, mandated by law and jointly implemented by ARTA, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), aims to provide a faster, more transparent, and more efficient way for businesses to apply for permits and licenses. With this recognition, San Simon has set a benchmark in Pampanga by fully integrating online business applications, digital payments, and automated assessments.
In his acceptance speech, San Simon Mayor Abundio “JP” Punsalan expressed his gratitude and commitment to innovation, stating:
“San Simon is a 3rd class municipality, but today we have proven that we have the capacity to achieve great things… this commendation proves that progress knows no boundaries.”
With this milestone, San Simon continues to lead Pampanga in digital governance, ensuring a seamless and technology-driven business permit application process. The municipality remains committed to further improvements, making government services more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of its constituents.
